3 Ways To Get Involved
Volunteer
Becoming a volunteer not only assists our organization, but it also promotes personal growth and development. Volunteering is a way to give back to your community, make a difference to others, learn professional skills, and develop professional relationships.
We are always seeking volunteers who can assist in the office with answering telephones, directing calls, and putting their skills to use by creating recreational classes (i.e. craft classes, couponing classes, exercise classes, etc.). We also look for volunteers and groups interested in building ramps or making minor home modifications for our consumers.
We do ask that volunteers commit to a work schedule and follow the same policies required of our staff.
If you would like to volunteer, simply click the link below, fill out the application, and mail it in! We'll be in contact with you soon to discuss available volunteering opportunities!
We look forward to work with you!
Board membership
You can become an instrumental part of our organization by joining our Board of Directors. We believe that our organization is only as strong as our board, so we are always looking for energetic individuals who believe strongly in the mission and philosophy of our organization.
We are an organization for individuals with disabilities, ran by individuals with disabilities and our Board of Directors is certainly no exception! At least 51% of our board members must be individuals with significant disabilities, but we take pride in the fact that we, often times, far exceed the 51% rule. But, just because you may not have a disability, doesn't mean there is no place for you on our board! If you have skills and ideas that will benefit our organization, the Board of Directors wants to know about it! Not sure if board membership is for you? We invite you to attend any one of our public board meetings. Come, observe, and decide for yourself!
